What is Hospice?
Hospice is specialized medical care for people who have been given a life limiting prognosis. Hospice is not about giving up. It’s about living a comfortable life and enjoying it regardless of your illness. Hospice services include nursing care, comfort medications, medical equipment, and supplies to manage patients’ symptoms and ensure comfort. Hospice provides 24-hour-a-day support for patients and their families, as well as bereavement (grief) counseling for families following the death of a loved one.
Why Agape Hospice Care?
We believe LOVE NEVER FAILS! In other words, we believe that the compassion of family, friends, and caregivers make life worth while. At Agape, we want you to feel like family. To us you aren't just another number.
At Agape Hospice Care we care for our patients and families, “one patient, one family” at a time. Our team strives to respond to each Physician Order and/or Patient/Family referral within two hours.
Our Registered Nurses are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Doctors and families receive regular updates regarding the patient’s progress.
Agape Hospice Care patients have the right to remain under the care of their personal Primary Care Physician. For those who do not have a doctor, Agape Hospice Care may provide a hospice practitioner.
Patients working with their PCP or other specialist are encouraged to keep their appointments. Physicians may bill Medicare Part B for all visits.
Families continue to receive bereavement support and counseling for up to 13 months after the loss of their loved one through Memorial Services, letters of encouragement, telephone calls, or counseling visits.
